The user's mailbox will take precedence when hitting the message button.
However if there are no messages in the user's mailbox it will automatically take you to the next mailbox in line.
If you wish to access one of the monitored mailboxes, press that line appearance and then the mailbox button, and log in.
example
The user 101 has a personal mailbox and monitors 2 general mailboxes 998 and 999
If 101=0 messages, the message button will take you to 998
If 998=0 messages also pressing the message button will take you to 999
