SONICTEL PBX setting up a monitored General Mailbox

To set up a monitored General mailbox that will be monitored by multiple phones with message indicator light functions, follow these steps from the domain you are working on:

1. Click the "Users" icon, create a user called "general mailbox" enable voicemail on this user. (along with any other mailbox settings you may want ie: email addresses, or transcriptions)

2. Click the "Edit" icon next to the user (or click on the "general mailbox" hypertext,) then press the "Phones" tab: and create multiple softphones using the "Add Phone" button

(do not change any settings just click "Add")

3. The number of softphones is dependent on the number of physical phones you would like to monitor the general mailbox.

4. Click the "Users" icon, press the "edit" icon(or hypertext) for the user you would like to monitor the general mailbox.

5. Click the "Phones" tab, then press the "button builder" icon , and press yes to "Edit button configuration for this phone"

6. Click on button 2, and change it to a "shared line appearance,"* below that add one of the soft phones you created under step 2, and to the right type "Voice Mail" or whatever title you would like.

  *make sure to use "shared line appearance" as using a regular line appearance will cause malfunctions.

7. Click the little triangle button on the right side of the "Save" button  and choose "save and re-sync"

8. Repeat steps 4-7 for each User you would like to monitor the General Mailbox
