We are pleased to announce that a new custom firmware for Polycom VVX models is now available to fix a Call Park Merge issue previously reported by Cloud9Phone partners.
We worked directly with Polycom to address this issue and provide a solution as soon as possible. It's now available exclusively for the Cloud9Phone partner community prior to general availability.
What this new firmware addresses:
Prior to this custom firmware being available, partners’ customers were inadvertently parking calls on top of each other, which would essentially merge calls. There was no mechanism in place to prohibit this from happening, causing concerns for our partners’ customers.
This new firmware restricts a new call from being parked on a Parking BLF key if there is already an active call parked on that Parking BLF key, eliminating the experience of parked calls being merged.
How to install the new firmware:
You will now notice a new configuration template in Portal. The default is now set for VVX_5.6.0_EST (be sure to select the appropriate time zone from the drop-down menu). Now, every new VVX endpoint will default to the new firmware selection.
You can use your normal protocol for provisioning using the new VVX_5.60 Template series. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the CoreDial Support Team at 914-595-2200, Option 3.
Sincerely,
The Cloud9Phone Team
