Firewall Rules Router Ports June 2014

Modified on Fri, Feb 19, 2016 at 1:46 AM

Web Portal
TCP 80 (HTTP)
TCP 443 (HTTPS)

You will use these ports to communicate to/from the portal server which the previous article refers to as Web Shared IP.
The portal server IP is 64.94.196.58 or as per your service provider DNS record (each provider has a single IP).

sipregistration.com
TCP 21 (FTP)
TCP 30000 - 50000 (Passive FTP) (?)

These ports will be used for ftp traffic to/from sipregistration.com.
Sipreg IP is 184.169.138.90.

TFTP server
UDP 69 (TFTP)

Grandstream 2000 phones provision to 64.94.196.99.

Cisco 7940/7960 phones now provision via tftp to 184.169.138.90.

Feature Server
UDP 5060 to 5380 (SIP)
UDP 10000 - 30000 (RTP)

All SIP and RTP traffic will be exchanged with the feature server/registration server for the customer in question.
This server hostname be found on the main Settings page in the portal for that customer and you can get the IP by pinging that hostname.
The reality is that your router will choose the port your phones register from, so it will not be 5060 in most cases.

SBC1 or SBC2

You do NOT have to list the IPs of the SBCs in your firewall.
The SBCs handle traffic between our network and the PSTN, not between us and your customer site.

Presence
Finally there is presence information (red/green registration status indicators, and Operator Console) sent to your web browser from the presence server. I believe this occurs on port 80 but other info may come on other ports for other apps like Outlook plugin etc.
