There are two ways to determine the type and release of your Partner system:

1) Using [ Feature ] [ # ] [ 1 ]
2) Using [ Feature ] [ 5 ] [ 9 ]

1) When you use the Feature #1 option, you will hear various beeps from the handset which correspond with the beeps indicated on the chart below. You must be on an active call on an outside line. You can accomplish this several ways:

a. Call one of the incoming lines to the Partner system and have another person answer, then press [ Feature ] [ # ] [ 1 ].
b. Call an outside party and explain that they will hear some beeps on the phone while you conduct this test. Press [ Feature ] [ # ] [ 1 ]
b. Pick up an unused line and press [ Feature ] [ # ] [ 1 ]. You will hear the dial tone in the background and possibly an error message.
c. On Partner Plus/II/ACS and Endeavor systems, you can program a ghost line (that doesn't have an actual line installed on it), then select that line and press [ Feature ] [ # ] [ 1 ].

2) Feature 59 can only be used on Partner ACS or Endeavor systems. Just use any display phone on the system and press [ Feature ] [ 5 ] [ 9 ]. The display will show the type of system and release as indicated in the table below.

Considerations:

bullet

On some Partner ACS and Endeavor systems, using Feature 59 is preferable because the beeps provided by Feature #1 are the same for different releases.

bullet

With Feature #1, if you receive an error or waive-off tone after pressing [ # ], the phone may be installed on a Merlin Legend or Merlin Magix system.

bullet

The dash (-) in the chart below indicates a pause between each beep pattern.

bullet

On Partner Endeavor systems, "Small" means the system is either a single processor or two-slot carrier. "Large" means it is a 5-slot carrier installation.
